In a surprising turn of events, a 14-year-old from Florida has pleaded guilty in a really shocking case regarding the ass@ult of a 91-year-old woman.
Jesse Stone was arrested back in June for s*xual as$@ult by someone under 18 toward a victim over the age of 12 and burglary of a dwelling with battery. While he initially entered a not guilty plea, he reportedly changed that plea to guilty last week according to court records via Law&Crime.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the incident went down on June 9, 2024 – with the victim telling authorities she was “awakened to find a person sneaking through her home.”
“In an act of cruel v!0lence, she was b£@ten and s£*ually battered by the suspect,” added the Sheriff, identifying the suspect as Stone.
The victim said, according to court records, the suspect “pounced” on her and punched her in the face.
Documents reportedly say Stone approached detectives while they were investigating the neighborhood, allegedly telling them that another neighbor had surveillance video and “found something” they should look at on it. The video reportedly showed a “figure” matching Stone’s physique jogging past the home, with Stone reportedly denying he was the person in the footage.
“Through the collection of DNA evidence, forensic investigators were able to positively identify the suspect” as Stone, said the sheriff.
“During an interview with Detective Caitlin Hartigan, Jesse Stone admitted to unlawfully entering the victim’s home, str!king the victim, and then s£*ually b@ttering her,” they added in a statement.
Stone reportedly admitted to going into the victim’s home to watch p0*nography, before att@cking her in her bedroom.
“I told everybody last week that we’d find who did it, and we did,” Marion County Sheriff Woods said in a statement when Stone was arrested. “After all the years I’ve been doing this job, this type of unimaginable v!0lence is still shocking to me.”
“It was a shock that somebody would do such a thing to a 91-year-old, but it is really shocking when we find out just how young the arrestee was,” said Woods. “While I wholeheartedly feel he needs to face the consequences of his action, as a parent my heart goes out to his family. Hopefully, his arrest will lead to getting him help that prevents any further such acts.”
According to Click Orlando, the state attorney’s office says they will charge Stone as an adult.
