Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has announced that the former two-time heavyweight champion is preparing for a highly anticipated return to the boxing ring in 2025.

The announcement follows Joshua’s crushing defeat to Daniel Dubois, a fight that halted his quest to reclaim dominance in the heavyweight division. This loss came after a promising streak of four consecutive victories in 2023, showcasing a revitalized version of the British-Nigerian fighter.

Joshua, who turned 35 on October 15, finds himself at a pivotal moment in his celebrated career. While some questioned whether the Dubois loss might spell the end of his journey in professional boxing, Hearn was quick to dispel retirement rumors. “Anthony loves boxing; he’d fight forever if he could,” Hearn stated, emphasizing the 2012 Olympic gold medalist’s dedication to the sport.

Before facing Dubois in March 2024, Joshua had delivered a stunning first-round knockout victory over Francis Ngannou, fueling hopes of a resurgence. However, the setback against Dubois underscored the physical and mental toll of fighting four times in less than a year.

Hearn explained the plan for Joshua’s comeback: “Anthony needs to recharge after such an intense schedule. He’ll resume camp in January 2025, setting the stage for a return to the ring in April or May.”

As fans eagerly await Joshua’s next chapter, his journey back to the ring promises to be a defining moment in his quest to solidify his legacy in boxing history.
