Actor and producer Danny Pintauro, known for his role in the sitcom Who’s the Boss?, recently revealed he underwent emergency surgery following a scooter accident on Thanksgiving night.

In an emotional Instagram post, Pintauro shared that while he initially thought he had only injured his arm, his symptoms worsened the following day. He began experiencing severe chest, stomach, and shoulder pain, along with breathing difficulties, prompting his husband, Wil, to take him to the hospital.

Doctors discovered a tear in Pintauro’s stomach had caused a life-threatening bloodstream infection.

“It was the worst moment of my life. The pain was the most excruciating I’ve ever felt,” Pintauro wrote. He underwent emergency surgery overnight, which he said “went well” and significantly eased his pain.

“They always say this, but it’s true: if I had waited any longer, I could’ve died,” he added, thanking the medical team for their care and his husband for being by his side throughout the ordeal.

Pintauro revealed this was his first major surgery, describing the experience as terrifying but noting he “kept it together.” He also clarified that his arm was not broken after all.

Danny Pintauro starred as Jonathan Bower on Who’s the Boss? from 1984 to 1992, alongside Tony Danza, Judith Light, and Alyssa Milano. More recently, he appeared in The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the TV movie A Country Christmas Harmony.
