Martins Otse, known online as VeryDarkMan, has announced the recovery of ₦78 million from the ₦180 million he previously reported as missing from his non-governmental organization’s account. Otse initially disclosed the alleged theft on Instagram, stating that the account had been hacked, which led to public skepticism regarding the legitimacy of his claims.

In a recent Instagram update, Otse expressed gratitude for the progress made in the investigation and mentioned that the suspect involved indicated an accomplice had fled to Ghana. Otse stated, “We have been able to recover ₦78 million, even though the suspect pointed out that the person he did with has run to Ghana, so hopefully, we would be going to Ghana very soon.”

The situation has garnered significant attention, with discussions focusing on the security of NGO funds and the challenges in safeguarding against cyber threats. As the investigation continues, stakeholders are keenly observing the measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure the protection of organizational assets.
