The Nigerian government has congratulated Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria emphasized its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with the US.

This includes cooperation in good governance, sustainable development, and combating terrorism.

Despite President Trump’s plans for stricter immigration policies and mass deportations, experts believe large-scale deportations are unlikely.

Obed Monago, former Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Americas, noted that constitutional and logistical challenges would hinder such actions.

He reassured Nigerians in the US that mass deportations are improbable, though immigration policies may become stricter.

The Nigerian government looks forward to continued collaboration with the US to address global challenges and promote mutual growth.
