Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has called on Muslims to fully embrace the essence of Ramadan. He urges them to demonstrate brotherly love, engage in fasting, and deepen their devotion to God during this sacred period.
In his 2025 Ramadan message, Obi highlighted the importance of using this solemn time to pray earnestly for Nigeria. He emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize the welfare of the people and for unity and peace to prevail across the nation.
Obi also addressed the current economic challenges facing the country, noting that they call for mutual support, especially during this holy month. He encouraged acts of charity and almsgiving, particularly towards the sick and less privileged, as taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
