Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vowed to continue protecting the interests of the state’s residents despite the ongoing political turmoil. He emphasized that attempts to disrupt the state’s peace and deny people their livelihoods would not succeed. Fubara assured that his commitment to peaceful governance and respect for authority remains steadfast, aiming to keep Rivers State exemplary in the nation.
During an Eid-el-Fitr visit, Fubara addressed Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic groups at his residence in Port Harcourt. He expressed gratitude for their support and prayers, highlighting the importance of unity and faith during challenging times. Fubara encouraged patience, drawing parallels to religious teachings that emphasize endurance and trust in divine purpose.
Fubara reiterated his administration’s dedication to justice, equality, and inclusivity, standing firmly against oppression. He acknowledged the distress caused by the political situation but urged citizens to remain steadfast, believing that the crisis would ultimately strengthen the state.
Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor, representing the Muslim community, expressed unwavering support for Fubara. He commended the governor’s inclusive approach to governance, contrasting it with previous administrations, and assured continued prayers and solidarity during this period.
