Governors from the northern region have condemned the recent attacks in Plateau State that left many dead and several communities in mourning. They described the killings as senseless and called for immediate action to stop the violence.
The chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He sent condolences to the families of those affected and to the people of Plateau State.
He stressed that every life matters and those responsible must be arrested and punished. He urged security agencies to act fast and ensure justice is served.
The governors praised Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his quick response to the crisis. They also commended security forces for working to bring the situation under control. Still, they called for stronger efforts to track and prosecute the attackers.
Governor Yahaya spoke about the importance of peace and unity across the region. He called on communities to show tolerance and work together to avoid more violence. He also urged both farmers and herders to find ways to live in peace.
The forum promised to keep working together to fight insecurity and support peaceful living across northern Nigeria. They encouraged local leaders, religious groups, and civil society to help promote peace and understanding.
The governors reminded citizens that progress can only happen when communities are safe and people feel protected.
