The Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Lagos State has arrested hundreds of individuals suspected of being members of the Boko Haram terrorist group. The arrests were made during coordinated security operations across various parts of the state.
According to the CJTF, the suspects were tracked and apprehended based on intelligence reports and surveillance. The task force explained that the goal of the operation was to prevent terrorist cells from forming in Lagos and to ensure public safety.
The CJTF highlighted the importance of community support in fighting terrorism and maintaining peace. Residents were encouraged to stay alert and report any unusual behavior or suspicious individuals to the authorities.
The suspects are currently being screened and investigated to determine their level of involvement in any criminal or terrorist activity. Those found guilty will be transferred to the appropriate security agencies for prosecution.
The CJTF also stated its continued commitment to working closely with other law enforcement bodies to protect lives and maintain order in Lagos State.
