A man was arrested after a car crashed through a crowd of people during the Liverpool FC victory parade in the city on Sunday. Manchester Evening News.
The accident had happened during the midst of huge celebrations since fans had gone out onto the streets to show support for their team. Witnesses indicate that the car suddenly drove into a section of the crowd near The Strand, running over several people before it came to a stop.
Police were quick to respond and arrested the driver at the scene. Emergency services were called, and a number of people were treated for minor injuries. No one was killed, and no one was reported to be in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is still unknown. Officials say there is no sign that it was a terrorist attack, but they are still investigating. Police also are investigating if the driver was drunk or had any known mental disease.
