Afenifere, the Yoruba social-political organization has claimed that the president Bola Tinubu of failing Nigerians. Afenifere said Tinubu made promises during his campaign, but has done very little since he took office.

In a frank statement, Afenifere stated that the lives of people in Nigeria have gotten worse under Tinubu’s administration. They cited rising prices, a lack of security and the growing hunger in the nation. As per the report, such issues have left a lot of Nigerians feeling frustrated and depressed.

Afenifere officials said they backed Tinubu at the time of the election as they believed he could bring about change. However, they now are feeling betrayed. They claim that Tinubu’s administration has neglected the struggles of the people as it has focused on politics and sloppy speeches.

The group said that the situation has become more difficult to the common Nigerian. From fuel to food costs, living expenses continues to rise. The report also noted that job loss and lack of security are causing a lot of young Nigerians to move out of the country.

Afenifere’s message was unambiguous: President Tinubu should assume all responsibility for the current difficult times. The group warned that, if conditions aren’t improved soon the country may be in the grip of more turmoil.

The group also urged Tinubu to not blame the previous administrations. They claimed that Tinubu has sufficient time to begin working towards making things better. Instead, they say that he made excuses and has not taken action.

They encouraged the President to pay attention to the pleas that people are making and implement urgent changes. They reminded him that true leadership is facing challenges, not absconding from them.
