Authorities in Anambra State have detained renowned native doctor Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki to investigate claims that he performs money rituals for individuals posing as internet fraudsters, commonly known as “yahoo boys.” These individuals have been causing unrest in the state.
This arrest follows a previous incident in July 2023, when Akwa Okuko was kidnapped from his hotel room in Oba, Idemili Local Government Area. During that abduction, his security aides were killed.
The current investigation aims to determine the validity of the allegations against him. Authorities are focusing on whether he has been aiding criminals through his practices.
