Dr. Femi Olaleye, a Lagos-based medical professional previously sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling a minor, has reportedly fled to the United Kingdom following his acquittal by the Court of Appeal. In 2023, a Sexual Offences Court in Lagos convicted Olaleye on two counts of defilement and sexual violence against a minor. However, in November 2024, the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal overturned this conviction, leading to his release.

The Lagos State Government, dissatisfied with the appellate court’s decision, has escalated the matter to the Supreme Court, seeking a reversal of the acquittal. In response to this development, reports suggest that Olaleye has relocated to the UK to evade further legal proceedings.

Adding complexity to the case, Olaleye’s legal representative, Mr. Kemi Pinheiro, has officially withdrawn from representing him. Pinheiro communicated to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution that his involvement concluded at the appellate level and that he would not be participating in the Supreme Court proceedings.

In the midst of these legal battles, Olaleye has allegedly initiated a media campaign targeting his estranged wife, Mrs. Aderemi Olaleye, as well as the judiciary and police, accusing them of bias. He claims that his wife has unlawfully taken possession of their shared residence and is evading arrest. However, these allegations have been refuted, with clarifications that the property in question is the family home, currently under legal dispute initiated by Olaleye himself.

Further allegations have surfaced, labeling Olaleye as a “serial pedophile” with a history of drugging and assaulting clients. It is claimed that prior to his return to Nigeria, he was involved in multiple cases of sexual abuse while employed at a well-known hospital in the UK.

Mrs. Aderemi Olaleye has expressed her intention to seek legal redress, maintaining her commitment to clearing her name through the judicial system. She has refrained from extensive public commentary, emphasizing her belief that the truth will emerge through proper legal channels.

This case continues to unfold, raising significant concerns about legal accountability and the protection of vulnerable individuals within the community.
