Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released after spending 12 days in captivity. Ojajuni was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja. The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N100 million.

During his captivity, Ojajuni was shot in the buttock, adding urgency to efforts for his release. His family managed to raise at least N17 million, which was paid to the abductors to secure his freedom. Ojajuni’s wife personally delivered the ransom in Akure before his release.

The Afenifere group condemned the worsening security situation and called for immediate action from the Ondo and Kogi state governments. They urged authorities to ensure Ojajuni’s safe rescue, noting that the abduction occurred near the boundary of both states.

Following his release, Ojajuni is receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed location. The Afenifere Youth Council expressed profound gratitude to all who supported them during this challenging period. They emphasized the importance of security and called on the government to uphold its responsibility to protect citizens.

This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria and underscores the need for effective measures to protect citizens from such threats.
