The Ondo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, has re-arrested a robbery suspect who escaped from police custody. The suspect was captured during a targeted operation in Akure, the state capital.

The suspect had earlier been arrested for his involvement in a series of armed robberies across the state. However, he managed to escape while in police detention, prompting concerns from residents and law enforcement agencies.

Amotekun Commander Adetunji Adeleye confirmed the arrest, stating that his team acted on reliable intelligence to track down the suspect. He explained that the suspect was found hiding in a building on the outskirts of Akure and was captured without resistance.

Commander Adeleye emphasized the need for stronger coordination between security agencies to prevent similar incidents in the future. He called for a full investigation into how the escape happened, urging accountability and tighter security around suspects in custody.

The suspect is currently being held and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further prosecution. Amotekun assured residents that it remains committed to ensuring peace and safety across the state.

Citizens were encouraged to report suspicious movements or activities, as community support remains key in tackling crime effectively.
